The 748th local committee of Désirs d’avenir has been created in Second Life.

On Saturday Jan. 13th 2007, Ségolène Royal visited the building of this local committee on Second Life. A video recording of the message that Ségolène Royal sent to Comité 748 was produced and published on the Désirsd’avenir-Secondlife blog.
The creators of Comité 748 chose this type of engagement to go and meet the ones, in Second Life, who are interested by the political life. They are numerous.

Just a few hours after opening, discussions joining together dozens of persons had already started in the Agora and the Projection Room of the building of Comité 748 of Désirs d’avenir on Second Life.

For the members of Comité 748, the prime objective is to campaign in Second Life and contribute to Ségolène Royal’s victory in the 2007 French presidential election.

For this reason the members of Committee 748 will organize on Second Life participative debates on the presidential platform of the candidate.

These debates will cover the same topics as those developed daily within the 747 other local committees of Désirs d’avenir.

Comité 748 will relay on Second Life the messages and initiatives emanating from Ségolène Royal and its spokesmen.

We will also pay detailed attention to the topics which are crucial to most members of Comité 748 : the political approach related on the use of technologies and, more precisely, to technologies in the digital life.

Thus we will relay the reflexions carried out by the Parti Socialiste section PS temps-réels, the Internet section of the french socialist party, and the points of view and contributions of the various participants in the debates organized by friendly groups, such as l’association des Audionautes, temps-nouveaux and others, which are not part of the socialist party but whose reflexions and texts are rich suggestions and seeds of projects for the future.

Lastly, Comité 748 intends to be one of the actors of the political debate on Second Life and to take part in the debates on the regulation and the creation of democratic authorities.

Within this framework we will start very soon bridging with the other associations and democratic parties already present in Second Life.

The building which shelters the activities of Comité 748 was designed and drawn by the architect JayP Boorman, member of Comité 748.

The energy and materials specifications of this building are similar to the lycée Kyoto which is currently under construction IRL (In Real Life) in Poitiers, the first college 100 % clean energies of the “after oil Europe”.

On Second Life, it is valorous Arnaud Harley, Anatole Francis and Yorzian Mahana who ensured the construction of the building and the zeppelin.

The other members and organizers of Comité 748 of Désirs d’avenir are Tomy March, Trebor Luke and LeMigou Khondji.

The blog Désirs d’avenir - Secondlife will regularly update on the activities of Comité 748. One will find there articles but also photographs and videos, as well as an irregular diary of the political life on Second Life.

Ségolène Royal and some of her staff ensured us that they will come visit us and dialogue in the buildings of Comité 748.
